PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
aeCore® PLUS decorative laminate is a multi-layer rigid calendared thermoplastic material that is produced from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) using an exclusive finish treatment and is suitable for use on fine quality residential and contract furniture, fixtures and casework, and also for architectural application on columns, wainscoting, valances, cornices, interior doors and divider systems. aeCore® PLUS was developed to outperform all physical and chemical properties of similar laminates to reach a robust, sturdy, super matt and silky finish with anti-fingerprint and anti-scratch characteristics that adds dramatic durability, functionality and workability. aeCore®PLUS offers higher resistance to scuff than conventional laminate and is designed for commercial, contract, institutional and residential applications where the surface must withstand more than regular wear.
RECOMMENDED USES
aeCore® PLUS general purpose vinyl decorative laminate is suitable for both horizontal and vertical interior applications in commercial interiors where the surface must be both functional and durable. Typical horizontal applications include counter and table tops, contract furniture and casework, as well as store fixtures. Typical vertical applications can include wall paneling, interior doors, counter tops, cash wraps, elevator cab interiors, cabinetry, casino slot bases, and bar fronts
BASIC LIMITATIONS
aeCore®PLUS general purpose vinyl decorative laminate is for interior use only and is not recommended for direct application to plaster, concrete walls, or gypsum wallboard. It is not structural material and must be bonded to a suitable substrate, such as plywood, MDF or particleboard among others.
Do not subject aeCore® PLUS Laminate to extremes in temperatures higher than 275F (135C) for substantial periods of time, or intense, continuous, direct sunlight.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
aeCore® PLUS general purpose vinyl decorative laminate sheets must be stored horizontally, face up, with a caul board placed on top to preserve the material. Storing the panels in an atmospherically stabilized room is recommended to avoid extreme fluctuations of moisture.
Kerno® recommends that full-sized sheets be carried by two people with the decorative facing upward whenever possible.
INSTALLATION
All substrates to be laminated should be inspected prior to installation to ensure that they are clean and free of surface defects or particles. The protective film (peel coat) should be removed prior to inspection. All defects should be corrected before application. Material, equipment, and workmanship should conform to industry-standard practices, conditions, procedures, and recommendations specified by National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) LD3-2005 Annex A, Architectural Woodworking Institute (AWI) Quality Standards, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 161.2-1979 standards.
ADHESIVE
Bond with adhesives and follow the techniques recommended by the adhesive manufacturer. Recommended adhesives are permanent types, such as PU hotmelts, and contact types.
3M™ Fastbond™ Contact adhesive 30NF is recommended for most bonding conditions.
These adhesives can be applied to the board or substrate and laminate easily using rollers or nozzles.
A short press-down time is usually sufficient to ensure a high initial strength. The hotmelt adhesives react with the humidity/moisture in the material and the temperature.
MAINTENANCE
aeCore® PLUS general purpose vinyl decorative laminate may be cleaned with a damp cloth, warm water, and a mild soap or household cleaning products. Cleansers that contain abrasives, acids, or alkalis may damage the decorative surface and are not recommended. Stubborn stains may require the use of hypochlorite bleach followed by a clean water rinse.
WARRANTY
Kerno® LLC warrants to the original consumer purchaser for one (1) year after date of purchase (“Warranty Period”) that, under normal use and service, aeCore® PLUS Laminate Sheets are free from manufacturing defects and conform to published specifications. This warranty applies only to a aeCore® PLUS Laminate Sheet which has been installed in an interior application and a remains installed at that location (“Warranted Product”) and is extended only to, and may be enforced only by, the original consumer purchaser. THIS WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE. This warranty is expressly conditioned upon submission of proof of date of purchase.
WHAT IS EXCLUDED
This warranty shall not apply to damage arising from any of the following:
- Accidents, abuse or misuse;
- Exposure to extreme temperature;
- Improper fabrication or installation; or
- Improper maintenance or repair.
